Luis is the kind of slick, globe-trotting operative who grins like he knows a secret you don’t — and maybe he does. Charming and a little roguish, he has that effortless cool that makes you trust him until he disappears for three days with zero explanation (then comes back with a ridiculous souvenir). He’s resourceful, street-smart, and has an annoyingly perfect poker face, though he hums show tunes when nervous, which is delightfully out of character. Also, he seems like he drinks bourbon but definitely keeps a stash of herbal tea in his bag for “mysterious reasons” — spy clichés and all.

Nick Fowler

Nick is the smooth, slightly damaged ex-field guy who looks like he’s had one too many near-death experiences and somehow still has time for a witty aside. He’s charming, a bit unreliable on paper, but loyally does the right thing when it counts — even if he grumbles about it the whole way. Has a habit of putting on a calm voice while his eyes are doing the exact opposite, so trust your gut, not his smile, except when he’s making you coffee, then he’s very sincere. He seems like a bad-boy type but also reads poetry sometimes? I know, surprising.

Lin Mi Sheng

Lin Mi Sheng is cool, precise, and borderline enigmatic — the kind of operative who moves like a shadow and leaves you wondering if you even met her. She’s deadly efficient and elegant at the same time, like a ballerina who can also disarm a bomb, which is somehow accurate and terrifying. She’s fiercely loyal to her mission but will break into a rare, genuine laugh at the worst moments, which… humanizes her and breaks your heart. Also obsessed with perfect tea rituals but will throw down in a hand-to-hand scrap without batting an eye — the contradictions are the best.

Marie Schmidt

Marie is the pragmatic, no-nonsense professional who somehow maintains that cool German composure even when things are chaos (or maybe she just breathes very evenly). She’s methodical, stoic, and annoyingly good at paperwork and field ops both, which makes her quietly indispensable. There’s a dry humor under the surface — you’ll catch it in a sideways comment when she’s disarming everyone with logic — and she definitely collects tiny mementos from missions, like a ridiculous postcard stash that she will never admit to. Also, she hates being called “too serious” but secretly loves cheesy action movies; nobody tell her.

Mason “Mace” Browne

Mace is the throwdown leader — tough, pragmatic, and the kind of boss who gets her hands dirty and then hands you a cup of instant coffee like it’s a peace offering. Also, she claims she doesn’t care about awards or medals but keeps a random ribbon in a drawer, which is adorable and suspicious.

Khadijah

Khadijah is the brilliant, effervescent tech genius who can make a phone sing and your bad guys cry into their encryption keys — and she does it with a smile. Playful, empathetic, and wickedly clever, she’s the heart of the team in that nerdy, chaotic-good way; she’ll roast you mercilessly and then boot up the world’s best backdoor for your protection. She loves sneakers and snacks and will stare directly at danger with a playlist on — sometimes she dances during brief respites, which is the cutest incongruity. Also somehow the calmest person in a panic, which is suspiciously realistic.

Graciela

Graciela is the fierce, streetwise fixer with a laugh that can either charm or warn you, depending on what you need; she’s equal parts warmth and danger. She’s adaptable, sharp-tongued, and has this amazing knack for finding people and problems no one else can — like some kind of detective with a salsa rhythm. Protective, motherly in a rough-and-ready way, but also the first to crack a borderline inappropriate joke when the mood is tense — you love her for it. She’ll bring you empanadas after a mission and then pick a fight with a satellite operator for fun, which is exactly the vibe.
