QuizRain operates a website that provides multilingual personality and trivia quizzes. This Privacy Policy explains what information is used when you visit QuizRain, take a quiz, contact us, or interact with advertising and analytics on the site.
Information we use
When you browse the site, normal technical information may be processed, such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited, and the time of access. This information is used to operate, secure, measure, and improve the site.
Google Analytics 4
QuizRain uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages and quiz routes are viewed and how the site performs. Google Analytics may use analytics cookies, a client identifier, and related identifiers. Analytics data is sent to Google and is not stored as a user profile in QuizRain.
Google AdSense and Auto Ads
QuizRain uses Google AdSense, including responsive and Auto Ads features, to display advertising. Google and its partners may use advertising cookies, device or browser information, and advertising identifiers to deliver, measure, limit, and personalize ads, subject to the choices available in your region.
Consent and cookies
Cookies and similar technologies may be used for analytics, advertising, security, and site functionality. On production, consent choices for Google services may be provided and managed through a Google-managed consent platform (CMP). Where required, Google services are controlled according to the consent choices and legal requirements that apply to the visitor. You can also control cookies through your browser settings, although some site features may not work correctly.
Quiz progress
When you take a quiz, QuizRain uses an HttpOnly cookie named qf_progress to keep the current quiz state, such as the quiz, step, selected answers, result state, and expiry time. It normally expires after approximately two hours and is signed to prevent tampering. Quiz progress is not stored as a separate user record in the WordPress database.
Contact form
The contact form asks for your name, email address, and message. If you submit it, these details are sent by email to the site administrator through the configured email service, with your email used as the reply address. Contact form submissions are not stored as submissions in WordPress.
Security and anti-spam controls
QuizRain uses nonces, a hidden anti-spam field, timing checks, link checks, and rate limits. For contact-form and login protection, a one-way hash or HMAC-derived key based on the request IP address may be stored temporarily in a WordPress transient. These temporary values are used only to limit abuse and protect the site; QuizRain does not use them to build a visitor profile.
Accounts, registration, and comments
QuizRain does not offer public registration or user accounts for ordinary visitors, and public visitors cannot post comments. Quiz participation does not require an account.
Third-party services
Other than the Google services described above and the configured email delivery service used for contact messages, QuizRain does not intentionally add third-party frontend tracking or advertising services. External sites linked from QuizRain may have their own privacy practices, which are outside our control.
Data retention and security
Temporary quiz cookies and anti-abuse transients expire automatically. Contact messages are handled through email and are not retained as WordPress form submissions. No method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, but reasonable technical measures are used to protect the site and its data.
Children
QuizRain is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so that it can be reviewed and removed where appropriate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the site, services, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
