Meet the characters from Uncharted
Nathan Drake
Nathan is the kind of scrappy, wisecracking treasure hunter who somehow always has a cigarette or a granola bar in hand — and I swear he can charm a gun out of someone’s holster with a grin. He’s obsessively into history and ruins but also kind of a walking disaster, leaving chaos and questionable life choices in his wake (but he means well, mostly). Loyal to his core, stubborn as a mule, and constantly pretending he doesn’t care about feelings while absolutely, definitely caring — it’s adorable and infuriating. He tells these terrible jokes and somehow they work, which is his superpower, I think. Oh, and he loses every shirt in every fight sequence; it’s a running thing, okay?
Chloe Frazer
Chloe is throat-grab gorgeous and sharp as a tack, a professional thief with a soft spot for elegant lies and better leather jackets. She’s pragmatic, mercenary when she needs to be, but also secretly sentimental — keeps tiny souvenirs from heists she insists are “useless” but then pulls them out at exactly the right dramatic moment. Flirty and dangerous, she’ll double-cross you and then rescue you five minutes later and smile like it’s all casual; honestly, she’s partly chaos and partly coffee. She hates being pinned down but collects little plans and spreadsheets like trophies, which is both efficient and oddly cute.
Victor Sullivan
Sully is the grumpy, cigar-chomping mentor who acts like a washed-up crook but is an absolute softie for Drake and old-fashioned loyalty. He gushes about “the old days” one minute and swigs bourbon from a thermos the next, complaining about “kids these days” while texting behind your back (don’t tell him I said that). He’s got a thousand bad jokes, a million scars, and a talent for getting out of impossible situations with a wink and a fedora tilt. You can tell he’s dodgy and sentimental in equal parts — the kind of man who will trade everything for one last decent gamble.
Braddock
Braddock reads like the no-nonsense military or corporate type who keeps a perfect haircut and a way-too-clean uniform even after a sandstorm, very efficient and mildly terrifying in boardrooms and gunfights. He’s the sort who uses legal jargon like a weapon and has a quietly cruel streak, but sometimes he snaps a joke that makes you wonder if he had a childhood at all (probably did, weirdly). There’s a weird little hobby—model trains or matched cufflinks?—that humanizes him for half a second before he resumes being the person who signs off on terrible plans. He’s competent, relentless, and always three steps ahead, and yet I’m convinced he cries at sunsets sometimes.
Moncada
Moncada is the charismatic, merciless antagonist with an obsession for power and history — and a weirdly theatrical flair, like he stages his entrances for effect (of course he does). He commands armies and loyalties but also has this fragile ego that makes him go off-book when challenged, which is his fatal flaw and kind of cinematic, if you forgive me. He collects antiquities the way other people collect watches, and will lecture you on provenance while plotting your demise — charmingly sociopathic, really. And somehow he hums terrible old pop songs when nervous? Don’t ask how I know that; it’s canon in my head.
