Joon-Yeong

Oh man, Joon-Yeong is that slippery, kind-of-scary kid who always seems to have an angle — you love to hate him but also secretly low-key admire how forward he is. He’s petty and clever and will stab you with words just as easily as with actions (not literally, but ugh, almost). Has this weird charisma where he tries to boss people around but also whines a lot, which somehow makes him oddly human. He collects weird little things in his pockets? Or maybe that was his brother — whatever, point is he’s chaotic and memorable.

Jae-Ik

Jae-Ik is the tough, shirtless-in-the-hallway type (you can almost hear him cracking knuckles) who acts like he’s made of iron but secretly cares way too much. Loyal to a fault, a little hot-headed, always ready to charge into ridiculous danger for friends, and also terrible at planning — classic. He’s the one who gives half-baked pep talks and then actually follows through, which is both noble and frustrating. Also has surprisingly soft taste in music? Yes, picture him humming an old ballad between punches.

Park Sun-Hwa

Sun-Hwa is sunshine — loud, kind, and absolutely refuses to stay small even when the world is collapsing. She’s empathetic to the point of getting herself into trouble, like she hoards people and gives them snacks and regrets nothing. Can flip from goofy to serious in a heartbeat; she’s the emotional glue and also the one who’ll punch you if you mess with her crew. Also collects stickers? I feel like she had stickers somewhere.

On-Jo

On-Jo is fierce in a quiet way, smart with a backbone made of stubbornness, and she’s the kind of person who will silently calculate survival plans while you scream. She balances empathy and pragmatism like a pro and often becomes the group’s moral compass even when she’s exhausted. Super resourceful, nails the “cool under pressure” vibe, but sometimes she doubts herself and cries in the bathroom — human. She’s also oddly into old soap operas? Maybe she memorized one line and repeats it for comfort.

Mi-Jin

Mi-Jin feels like the adult who didn’t sign up for any of this but somehow keeps everything from burning down — teacher/guardian energy in spades. Calm on the surface, tense underneath; she makes impossible decisions and absorbs blame like it’s her job (which, uh, sometimes is the worst thing). She’s maternal without being saccharine and has weirdly dark jokes to cope, which I adore. Oh and she probably drinks terrible instant coffee and insists it’s fine — don’t argue.

Dae-Su

Dae-Su is the guy who tries to act chill and fails spectacularly; you can see him managing panic with sarcasm. He’s practical-ish, not the bravest but scrappy, and makes little compromises that turn into surprisingly brave moves later. Kind of a realist who secretly hopes for hero moments but is mostly on clean-up duty, which is underrated. He also keeps a ridiculous souvenir from before everything went wrong — a broken wristwatch or something — and talks to it sometimes.

So-Ju

So-Ju is small but fierce and hits like a truck; underestimated constantly and therefore dangerous, in a good way. She’s got mood swings that read as “intense” and then “terrifyingly normal” and that unpredictability makes her an oddly effective survivor. Petty and loyal in turns; she’ll hold grudges and then bake you a midnight cake because she’s conflicted. Also, I’m pretty sure she hums villain-theme tunes when she’s plotting — just imagine.

Ha-Ri

Ha-Ri is the anxious overthinker who turns into an unshakable pillar when things get real — she worries a ton and then becomes laser-focused, which is incredible to watch. Empathy is her superpower; she obsesses over what’s fair and tries to fix impossible things, sometimes unsuccessfully, but never without trying. Has little quirks like folding things obsessively or organizing bandages by color, which is weirdly soothing. Also cries at commercials? Probably.

Su-Hyeok

Su-Hyeok gives you the quiet competence vibe — not flashy, actually kind of background, but you notice when he’s not there because things fall apart. He’s level-headed, good at mechanics or whatever makes a group function (maps, engines, first aid), and is patient to the point of being saintly-ish. Sometimes he’s frustratingly stoic and then surprises you with a goofy anecdote — human after all. Definitely keeps a tiny notebook full of doodles and emergency plans; adorable.

Cheong-San

Cheong-San is the iconic reluctant leader: clever, brave, and unbearably earnest in the best way, like he reads a survival manual and then actually follows it but with heart. He’s the kid everyone trusts, resourceful, can rally a hopeless mess into actual strategy, and he cries sometimes which just makes him more real. Has this sweet awkwardness — snacks in his backpack, weirdly sentimental about small victories — and also a stubborn streak that saves people. Also probably smells like chalk and sweat because hi, school survivor aesthetic.
