Meet the characters from Citadel
Mason Kane
Mason is one of those broody leads who somehow manages to be equal parts lethal and oddly charming — like, he’ll take down a room and then apologize for the broken vase. He’s the field hand who makes snap decisions that sometimes work and sometimes make you want to scream, but mostly they work because he’s terrifyingly competent. There’s a real haunted-guy energy, all quiet looks and old regrets, but he also collects ridiculous little mementos (matchbox cars? miniature spoons? I can never remember) and keeps them in a shoebox he pretends not to open. Protective to the point of stubbornness, loves black coffee and hates it when people underestimate him, which they do, constantly.
Nadia Sinh
Nadia is the brilliant, laser-focused operator who reads a room like a book and then rewrites it — so smart it’s slightly annoying, in a good way. She’s the tech brain and moral center rolled into one: furious about injustice, quietly funny, and absolutely relentless when she’s onto something. She carries instant ramen as if it’s a survival tool (which, okay, it is), and will refuse to talk about her past but will also make you a playlist about revenge, so, you know, mixed signals. She’s cooler than cool but will secretly baby-talk a stray animal, which I adore.
Bernard Orlick
Bernard is the older, steady strategist — the kind of guy who smells faintly of paper and pipe tobacco (or maybe it’s cologne, I’m not sure) and always has a plan, and a backup plan, and a backup for the backup. He’s institutional, layered, makes the rules and occasionally breaks his own rules when someone he cares about is in trouble, which is how you know he’s sentimental underneath all that gravel. He’s a mentor but not syrupy about it; think tough love with spreadsheets and irrationally good tea. Sometimes he’s grumpy for no reason and then you catch him humming an embarrassing pop song and everything makes sense.
Dahlia Archer
Dahlia is the gloriously dangerous antagonist who smiles like she’s planning a party and then ruins your life with hors d’oeuvres, honestly theatrical but precise. She’s elegant, manipulative, and has a taste for the finer things — crystal glasses, orchids in the foyer, the sort of villain wardrobe that deserves its own Instagram. She can be cold-blooded and then inexplicably kind to a stray cat or a child and you’re like, wait, which Dahlia is this? She speaks in measured sentences that cut and is terrifyingly good at reading motivations, while also humming show tunes when she’s plotting, which is a mood.
Abby Conroy
Abby is the scrappy wildcard who’s equal parts hacker, quick-witted friend, and chaos engine — she zips through danger with a grin and a flippant comment that somehow defuses tension. She’s fiercely loyal, annoyingly clever, and annoyingly messy (her desk is a tragic shrine to half-eaten snacks), but when it counts she’s the calmest voice in the room. Abby claims she hates rules but will enforce the nerdiest code of honor on anyone who crosses her crew, which is adorable and terrifying. Also she sings horribly off-key in the car and insists it makes her sharper; I believe her, because she’s always right when it matters.
