Meet the characters from Ms. Marvel

Kamala Khan

Kamala is a total heart-on-her-sleeve dork and the kind of person who will stop mid-conversation to squeal about a comic book — and then save the day, somehow. She’s endlessly optimistic, fiercely loyal, a little clumsy (physically and socially), and absolutely not subtle about her love for fandom culture. Powers? Weird, wonderful, sometimes gooey — she stretches, grows, glows, and occasionally behaves like a walking friendship bracelet, but honestly the “how” is less fun than the “oh my gosh she did that.” Also she keeps a notebook full of awkward fanfic ideas and snacks in places no one should, which is both endearing and mildly alarming.

Bruno Carrelli

Bruno is the lovable scientist-friend stereotype but way more human — awkward, brilliant, and the kind of person who builds blinking prototypes in his basement and then apologizes for the noise. He’s endlessly supportive and quietly heroic, the brain to Kamala’s heart, with a ridiculous amount of conspiracy theory bookmarks and also inexplicably good taste in vintage sweaters. He can be both hyper-confident about equations and visibly panicked about small talk, which is adorable and sometimes chaotic. Tiny quirk: he collects novelty erasers and will defend their ergonomic value like it’s a moral duty.

Nakia

Nakia punches first and asks questions later — she’s a fierce, sporty friend with a megawatt moral compass and an eye-roll for performative nonsense. She’s practical, super loyal, the person who will drag you to training and then force you to talk about your feelings (begrudgingly). She’s not perfect — she has a soft spot for rom-coms and will sometimes ruin the mood by quoting obscure protest songs — but that mix of steel and softness is exactly why she clicks with the rest of the crew. Also, she owns more workout headbands than seems necessary and maybe sneaks fried snacks into midnight vigils, which is a crime and also kind of precious.

Muneeba Khan

Muneeba is the classic protective mom-energy with laser focus and an unshakeable belief that food and a plan solve almost everything. She’s practical, endlessly comforting, and has this quiet stubbornness — you do not argue with her about plans or dumpling folding, honestly don’t try. She’s warm but can be awkwardly strict, and there’s this undercurrent of worry that makes her fiercely hands-on (and slightly overbearing, in the best way). Little things: she names herbs like they’re relatives and will scold you in the gentlest, most persuasive way possible.

Yusuf Khan

Yusuf is the calm, steady anchor of the family — dad jokes, patient listening, surprisingly sharp observations at 2 a.m. when no one else is awake. He’s supportive without being performative, kind of the quiet strength you don’t notice until you need it, and somehow remembers everyone’s weird food preferences. He’s also got this goofy side where he’ll try to dance badly at family parties just to make people laugh, which is both embarrassing and totally endearing. Also, apparently he has a shadow archive of cricket trivia that comes out at family dinners and will derail conversation for hours.

Aamir Khan

Aamir is the older-brother energy who vacillates between “responsible adult” and “accidental meme,” very earnest and a little dramatic in the best possible way. He tries hard to be sensible (and often is), but also hoards action figures and will defend a badly written TV show like it’s a political stance — deeply embarrassing for the family, oddly charming for him. He’s protective, sometimes overbearing, and secretly soft about things like poetry and sunsets, which he denies immediately. Little inconsistent fact: he’s both the family planner and the one who forgets his keys every single day — go figure.

Kamran

Kamran is the smooth, mysterious type who can charm a room and then vanish into a hallway like it’s no big deal — equal parts swoon and suspicion. He’s charismatic and protective, with a complicated streak that makes you trust him and also side-eye him, which is honestly the whole point of his vibe. He’s got warmth and a secretive side (maybe shady, maybe just dramatic), plus tiny habits like collecting stickers and being inexplicably into late-night takeout, which humanizes him. Oh, and he smiles a lot — sometimes sweet, sometimes dangerous, sometimes both within the span of a sentence.
