Welcome to Quiz: Which 'SuperMarioGlitchy4' Character Are You

SuperMarioGlitchy4 or SMG4 for short, is a YouTube series that slaps together Super Mario and internet culture. Created by Luke Lerdwichagul, an Aussie animator, it’s packed with characters from Mario world and some original ones. Zany humor? Check. Absurd plots? Double check. Memes and pop culture? Oh, you bet. SMG4 has racked up over 3 million subscribers and billions of views. Not bad for a bunch of pixels and chaos, right?

Meet the characters from SuperMarioGlitchy4

SMG4

SMG4 is the gloriously chaotic heart of the whole show — like, he’s Mario-but-not-Mario, meme-obsessed and perpetually caffeinated, a walking catastrophe with charm. He makes the worst life choices and then edits them into something iconic (honestly, his editing deserves its own award). One minute he’s a selfish prankster stealing the spotlight, the next he’s oddly parental and comforting to everyone — it’s confusing but you love it. His jokes are lowbrow and somehow always perfect, and he frequently forgets the plot because a new meme made him rewrite everything; also I’m like 90% sure he hates broccoli but also collects it?

Fishy Boopkins

Fishy Boopkins is the squeaky, dramatic fish-lady who swims into scenes like a glitter tornado and refuses to be subtle about anything. She’s petty in the most entertaining way, hoards baffling things (glitter, cupcakes, grudges), and somehow doubles as the emotional anchor of the crew — don’t ask me how that math works. She’ll judge your outfit while offering you a hug, then maybe betray you in a musical number five minutes later, which is peak Fishy. Also, sometimes she seems from the ocean and sometimes from a suburban garage and honestly both are plausible and that’s the best part.

Bob

Bob is the big, silent, lovable force of nature — like a confused rock with a heart and questionable hygiene. He doesn’t say much, which is kind of the point, and he’ll smash a thing and then apologize to it like a very sorry demolition crew. Loyal to a fault, suspiciously precise with thrown vegetables, and occasionally poetic for no reason, he’s the go-to for both heavy lifting and emotional silent support. Also is he a roommate or a pet? That changes depending on who’s telling the story, but it still works.

Tari

Tari is pure gamer cinnamon-roll energy — tiny, anxious, and too wholesome for all this corruption, plus she genuinely loves snacks and speedruns. She’s painfully talented with a controller yet awkward in normal conversation, which makes her accidentally adorable and sometimes dangerous (in the best way). She’s the calming influence when things get nuts but also capable of accidentally pressing “nuke” on the plot, depending on stress levels. Fun detail: she definitely has a drawer of tiny plushies labeled “strategic reserves” and it is absolutely a thing she takes very seriously.

Swagmaster6969696969

Swagmaster6969696969 is the Internet incarnate of flexing — neon shades, ridiculous username, and a confidence so loud it echoes in empty chatrooms. He sells hype, screams for attention, and will challenge you to a dance-off at 3 a.m., but somehow he also collects vinyl and speaks fondly about 90s platformers (contradiction, yes, but somehow it fits). He’s performative and scene-stealing, yet every so often the bravado cracks and you see someone who kind of wants to be respected. Also he insists everyone call him “Swag” even though the whole name is a meme and he makes suspiciously good smoothies? don’t ask.

Chris Gordman

Chris Gordman is the painfully earnest TV-personality/manager archetype who tries to be polished and ends up being a walking sitcom subplot. He’ll enter with a spreadsheet in one hand and a flustered smile, scheming the most elaborate PR plan while simultaneously fangirling over minor chaos. Equal parts organizer and disaster magnet, his plans are cartoonishly detailed and somehow occasionally succeed (which is terrifying and impressive). He’ll drop corporate buzzwords mid-battle and then cry at a touching commercial, which is very him and very stupidly relatable.

Bowser

Bowser here is the theatrical, blustery king-of-villains who has the temper of a volcano and the bedside manner of a grumpy dad. He demands tribute, throws epic tantrums, and yet will pause a conquest to bandage a minion’s paw because of course he will — soft on the inside, really. His schemes are dramatic and absurd but occasionally heartfelt, and he has weird hobbies (rare condiments? knitting? both) that make zero sense and 100% make him iconic. Also terrifying in a fight but likely to cuddle a pillow afterwards and apologize to it out loud, which I adore.
