Meet the characters from That ’90s Show
Kitty Forman
Okay, Kitty is everything warm and slightly terrifying all at once — like a hug that will also scold you into shape. She’s the big, maternal engine of the whole neighborhood, always cooking something (brownies? meatloaf? honestly both) and saying things in that voice that could stop a stampede. Sweet, nosy, and dramatic, she’ll fuss over you one minute and then drop a one-liner that has everyone snorting with laughter the next. Also she swears she hates drama but will somehow be at the center of it, and yes she probably still has a ridiculous stash of novelty tea towels.
Red Forman
Red is the gruff, no-nonsense anchor you half-respect and half-fear — basically the king of “I told you so” and sarcasm as a life philosophy. Hard-edged, stubborn, old-school, he hands out life lessons like blunt instruments, but you can see the soft core under all that leather-jacket grumpiness if you squint. He’s a curmudgeon who secretly loves his family more than his toolbox (but don’t tell him I said that), and will absolutely make you regret wasting his time with nonsense. Also, he’s obsessed with precision — whether it’s the lawn or a stern look — but will inexplicably hum a pop song while doing it, which I love.
Jay Kelso
Jay is pure Kelso energy in teen form: goofy grin, skateboard-sparked chaos, and the eternal optimism of someone who thinks life is one long prank. He’s charming in a dopey way, tries to be cooler than he is, and somehow always lands on his feet (or at least gets up smiling). Not the sharpest tool in the shed but crazy loyal and disarmingly sweet when it counts — also has a surprisingly soft spot for cheesy romantic gestures, which I did not expect but yes. Sometimes he’s clueless about everything, and sometimes he’ll blurt out something oddly profound like he’s reading from the manual of chill.
Sherri Runck
Sherri is this delightful mix of perky enthusiasm and low-key anxiety — like someone who wears bright sweaters to hide the fact that she’s constantly overthinking. She’s earnest, a little dramatic, actually quite ambitious, and very good at pretending everything’s fine (which she claims to hate, ironically). You get the sense she wants to be liked by everyone and will plan tiny, elaborate social events to make that happen — sometimes they go wonderfully, sometimes they explode, both are entertaining. Also, she’s annoyingly organized about her feelings but also will suddenly burst into a random tangent about, I dunno, ceramic frogs or whatever she collects.
Ozzie
Ozzie is the lovable awkward brain, the friend who knows too much about obscure trivia and can fix your VCR with a paperclip and the exact wrong kind of confidence. He’s shy but fiercely loyal, the kind of person who overprepares for everything and then fumbles charmingly in real life — very endearing. He’s into weird hobbies (comic books? vintage tech? conspiracy blogs?) and will defend them like they’re art, and somehow makes nerdiness seem heroic. Also, he’s both introverted and somehow the emotional sponge of the group — cries at commercials, definitely eats cereal for dinner more than he admits.
Nikki
Nikki is bold, sharp, and sparkly — like someone who walked out of a music video with an opinion and a plan. She speaks her mind, dresses with tiny rebellions, and will call you out in the best possible way; also she has a dry sense of humor that sneaks up on you. Fiercely loyal to her friends and ridiculously talented (art? music? both? I can’t decide), she balances toughness with surprising vulnerability — will roast you and then tuck you into bed metaphorically. She claims she hates slow songs but secretly has a playlist of emotional ballads that she listens to when no one’s around.
Leia Forman
Leia is fire with a soft center — sharp-tongued, curious, and absolutely the kind of person who inherits the family sass and then upgrades it. She’s clever, fearless-ish, and the unofficial leader of the crew, always scheming up plans that are about 70% genius and 30% “oh no.” She admires the old-school weirdness of the ’70s (because family history!) but also wants to be her own person, which leads to adorable identity crises and bold choices. Also she’s messy in the best way — studious one day, chaotic night-owl the next — and somehow always has gum in her pocket.
