Meet the characters from Schitt’s Creek
Johnny Rose
Johnny is the quietly steady center of the chaos — former video-store magnate turned small-town pragmatist who will literally try to fix anything with calm logic and a suspiciously sincere smile. He cares about decency and budgets and also about his family in a way that sneaks up on you, like “oh right, he actually loves them more than we expected.” He’s oddly nostalgic for boardrooms but also weirdly into community potlucks, which is delightful and confusing. Also, he has a secret soft spot for cheesy infomercials (I swear I’ve seen him quoting one), and he’ll always try to make the best of a weird situation.
Moira Rose
Moira is pure theatrical hurricane energy — huge vocabulary, bigger wigs, and an utterly uncompromising sense of style that refuses to be small-town fuddy-duddy. She treats everything like a performance: grocery shopping, parental advice, explaining why her accent is “eclectic” — dramatic, loving, slightly terrifying, and so, so funny. There’s a paradox where she claims to abhor Schitt’s Creek and simultaneously treats it like a personal stage; she’s allergic to low stakes but also very invested in the nursery rhymes of the town. Also she hoards obscure vintage perfumes and once named a plant after a lesser-known French poet, so yes, extra.
David Rose
David is sarcasm wrapped in a cashmere scarf — sharp, stylish, allergic to small talk but soft as a marshmallow for the people he actually trusts. He’s painfully honest, extremely picky about aesthetics, and possibly the only person who can make a black sweater feel like a personality trait. He pretends to hate community events but will roll up his sleeves and be quietly indispensable, which is the whole point, honestly. He’s contradictory in the best way: dramatic and fragile, ultra-cool but secretly sentimental, and a surprising baker if you catch him at the right hour.
Alexis Rose
Alexis is a sunbeam of chaotic adventure: part globe-trotter, part social spiral, all heart — she narrates her life like a glossy travel memoir and actually knows a ridiculous number of people. She’s delightfully flighty and also strangely profound at family therapy moments, which is the combo that keeps you guessing. She once forgets what year it is but will remember an obscure person from a 2011 networking party by name, so memory priorities are…unique. Also, she hoards inspirational quotes on post-its and has a scandalous collection of plane blankets somewhere.
Jocelyn Schitt
Jocelyn is pure local sunshine — the teacher/organizer/mom friend who runs the bake sale, the PTA, and probably three small craft nights without breaking a sweat. She’s cheerful, a tad ditsy in the most charming way, and wild about her kids and her community, but don’t underestimate her; she’s quietly intuitive and very good at diffusing drama. She misplaces the car keys constantly but somehow remembers everyone’s birthday and the weirdest town gossip. Also, she owns at least seven mason jars labeled “misc.” and will offer you a casserole before you can say no.
