Sharp writing, funny moments and great acting make it a must-watch. Characters like Moira and David will make you laugh and cringe at the same time. Oh and it has won a bunch of awards too. Johnny Rose

Johnny is the quietly heroic dad of the family — the one who actually reads spreadsheets for fun and will calmly pilot the chaos while everyone else panics. He’s a former business guy with an undying optimism (borderline stubborn) and this weird habit of keeping receipts from 1997 for reasons he’ll never explain. He tries to be the sensible anchor but also has a surprising soft spot for mediocre small-town theatre and really bad late-night TV. Honestly, he’s steady, a little embarrassed by emotion, and somehow both a fixer and a cheerleader at the same time.

Moira Rose

Moira is theatrical chaos in a designer wig — regal, dramatic, and absolutely convinced of her own headline-making destiny (even if sometimes she can’t remember town names). Her vocabulary is ridiculous and delightful, she’s incapable of a normal haircut, and she oscillates between world-class diva and oddly tender mother in the blink of an eye. She gives fashion advice like it’s scripture and will deliver one-line burns that land perfectly, but also cries over obscure artisanal cheese sometimes (no, really). It’s equal parts genius and ridiculousness and you never quite know which is coming next.

David Rose

David is peak stylish-neurotic boutique owner energy, forever dressed like he’s only one dramatic scarf away from a magazine spread. He’s sarcastic and prickly (he’ll insist he hates small talk but will remember your coffee order) and deeply, stubbornly loyal to the people he loves — even if he pretends not to be. He’s allergic to most social norms, obsessively particular about aesthetics, and somehow both fragile and unreasonably confident at the same time. Also, he has a candle situation and an internal soundtrack of sighs; just saying.

Alexis Rose

Alexis is the charming, flirty globe-trotter who somehow knows seventeen people everywhere and has a tragic list of ex-boyfriends she mentions like hobbies. She’s sunshiny and a little scatterbrained (she will tell you six career anecdotes in a row, none in chronological order) but also incredibly warm and surprisingly pragmatic when it counts. She’s the friend who will cry at your wedding and instantly find you a babysitter and also once lived in three countries in six months, I think? She’s a mess in the best way — social butterfly with a surprisingly big brain under the sunglasses.

Jocelyn Schitt

Jocelyn is town-mom royalty — endlessly cheerful, cozy, and somehow always wearing floral prints while dispensing life advice like bake sale wisdom. She’s the person who organizes everything and also shows up late because she stopped to pet a dog, which is somehow both endearing and infuriating. Sweet, supportive, a little naive, and fiercely loyal to her friends (and she drinks wine like it’s a hobby, honestly). She’s the warm, squishy heart of the town — the kind of person who forgives you and then sends you a casserole.
