Superstore is a must-watch in comedy TV, for sure.
Meet the characters from Superstore
Amy
Amy is the person who tries to keep the whole store from imploding and somehow makes it look like a plan, even when it’s chaos. She’s organized to the point of obsession — seriously, she has a binder for everything — but also the type to throw the binder out the window when someone’s feelings are involved. Loves rules but will absolutely bend one if it saves a coworker, and yes she judges your breakroom Tupperware but will feed you dinner if you’re sad. Honestly, she’s kind of the moral compass but with a dry sense of humor that sneaks out when she’s had too much coffee.
Jonah
Jonah is the painfully earnest, idealistic guy who thinks the parking lot is a metaphor for capitalism and will hand out pamphlets about organics while wearing ironic glasses. He’s sweet and awkward and loves to make morally inspired speeches that nobody asked for — but also watches cheesy rom-coms late at night (don’t tell him I said that). He’s the kind of guy who wants to fix the system but trips over a pallet because he was thinking about grand gestures. He’s cute and naive and somehow infuriatingly hopeful, in a way that makes people want to both roll their eyes and join his protest.
Dina
Dina is a no-nonsense, borderline-militaristic safety warden who rules the floor with an iron clipboard and a surprisingly soft heart (under like seven layers of sarcasm). She’ll bark orders, enforce ridiculous policies, and then quietly rescue a stuck cat or adopt a plant and name it after a battle strategy — yes really. Claims to hate affection but will fight you for her people, and also for the right to assign a seating chart; she’s unexpectedly into emotional logistics. Also she collects tactical pens and will glare at you until you stop talking, which somehow doubles as leadership.
Garrett
Garrett is the dry, deadpan oracle of the breakroom, equal parts lazy cynic and secret softie — he’ll mock a corporate memo and then quietly memorize everyone’s birthday. He’s the type to make a hilarious comment from behind the register and then vanish to nap in the stockroom, but also write the weirdest, saddest late-night poetry (not that he’d admit it). He hates most people’s optimism and loves the tiny rebellions, like stealing free samples and keeping them in a hidden drawer. Honestly, he’s sharper than he pretends and uses sarcasm like a shield and occasionally a spoon.
Cheyenne
Cheyenne is bubbly, giggly and accidentally wise, like sunshine with a messy bun who also happens to be a young mom juggling baby bottles and grocery runs. She’s obsessed with social media and glitter and will serenade the cereal aisle one minute then drop a truth bomb the next — hilarious, chaotic energy. She’s incredibly loyal to her friends and secretly more resilient than she admits (also remembers everyone’s favorite candy, which is impressive). Sometimes she’s a little ditzy, sometimes she’s the most focused person in a crisis, so, you know, consistent inconsistency is her brand.
Glenn
Glenn is the relentlessly optimistic, cuddly manager whose face is literally a motivational poster — he believes in everyone, even when they mess up spectacularly. He mixes earnest pep talks with genuinely terrible motivational clichés and somehow makes them inspiring; also he eats a lot of donuts, maybe all of the donuts. He’s a bit clueless about boundaries but has the world’s biggest heart and will organize the most chaotic, heartfelt team-building event you can imagine. He thinks conflict is solvable with hugs and a spreadsheet, and sometimes it actually works.
Sandra
Sandra is the quietly sardonic backbone of the floor — she’s seen everything, done everything, and will stare at you like you owe her an explanation for existing. Deadpan and low-key, she disapproves of most things but shows up anyway, which is basically love in her language. She knits in silence, secretly enjoys pop music in her car, and claims to hate kids while being inexplicably soft for certain coworkers’ babies. Her loyalty is gruff but real, and she has the perfect eye-roll for every dumb corporate idea.
