Nate and Vanessa are the gentle, almost-tragic maybe-could-have-beens of the show — polite, wistful, and full of missed cues. Carter and Serena are the reckless, glamorous wrong-choice-but-so-fun pairing that makes you smirk and cringe at the same time. He’s this magnetic bad-boy with a smile that ruins plans, she’s dazzling and occasionally flaky in the sweetest possible way, and together they are zero-percent stable ninety-percent entertaining. There’s genuine chemistry, reckless adventures, and a lot of impulsive hallway makeouts — plus Carter collects matchbooks like some weird aesthetic thing? Serena, on the other hand, forgets names but never forgets the scene, which is honestly her superpower.

Chuck and Blair

Chuck and Blair are the iconic love-plot: schemers, crown-thieves, queen and king of emotional chess. Everything about them is intense — plotting, costumes, whispered vows in the middle of a scandal — and yet they’re this fiercely loyal, borderline violent protector duo when it counts. Blair is ruthless and sentimental, which is a terrible combo and also the reason she’s endlessly watchable; Chuck is terrifying and romantic in the same breath, like a velvet glove over a fist. They probably coordinate outfits and then deny it, while also sharing cupcakes at midnight when no one’s looking.

Cyrus and Eleanor

Cyrus and Eleanor are the slow-burn grown-up romance that gives you comfort with a side of stabbing looks at charity galas. Eleanor is fashionable, sharp-tongued, secretly soft (she keeps a hidden stash of old souvenirs, don’t ask), and Cyrus is this endlessly supportive, slyly witty matchmaker type who hums show tunes at breakfast. They have these tiny domestic rituals that are weirdly adorable and they bicker like an elderly sitcom couple but then team up like legal assassin power couple when needed. Also, Eleanor lecturingly rolls her eyes with perfect diction and I love it.
