Sam

Sam is the heart-and-brain of the Winchester duo — quietly intense, constantly researching, and somehow always seven steps ahead even when he looks like he’s falling apart. He’s the empathetic one, the moral compass and voice of reason, but don’t be fooled; he can be stubborn and a surprisingly brutal fighter when the chips are down. Like, he’ll spend an afternoon in a dusty library reading Latin manuscripts and then spend the night gutting a monster (he says he hates gore but somehow keeps a survival knife just in case). He’s awkwardly charming, eats weird late-night snacks, probably cries at single-sentence passages, and sometimes forgets where he put his glasses which are always on his head. Complicated, loyal, sometimes brooding, and absolutely a softie under that ‘don’t get attached’ exterior — yes he broods, and no he won’t admit it.

Dean

Dean is the loud, messy, all-heart big brother who runs on classic rock, sarcastic one-liners, and an unhealthy devotion to his car (seriously, the Impala is basically his emotional support vehicle). He’s a protector to the marrow — impulsive, fierce, sometimes reckless — and will throw himself into danger with this dramatic, tragic-romantic flair that’s slightly exhausting and totally heroic. Also, he’s the one with an arsenal of bad jokes, a surprising soft spot for vintage shirts, pie-hoarding tendencies, and a secret fondness for old movies (don’t ask him about ‘Casablanca’ though, he’ll deflect). He’ll act like he hates feelings and therapy and all that touchy stuff but then quietly keep mementos and look at family photos for way too long; contradictory much? yep. Rough around the edges, insanely loyal, and secretly very thoughtful — he’s the “take care of you” type even if he grumbles the whole time, and somehow you can’t help loving that.
