Meet the characters from Destiny 2
The Guardian
The Guardian is this weird, iconic blank-slate hero who somehow feels both mythic and like your roommate who never does the dishes — stoic, relentless, a little mysterious. They’re built from duty and instinct, always ready to resurrect and get back into it, but also prone to sudden, inexplicable fashion choices (helmet with a cape, sure, why not). There’s this quiet magnetism where you can’t tell if they’re pondering the fate of the solar system or trying to remember where they left their ghost. Honestly, they’re equal parts ancient legend and exhausted courier, which is the best kind of vibe.
Cayde-6
Cayde-6 is the chaotic good Exo with a grin and a million terrible ideas that somehow work half the time — he’s witty, reckless, and very fond of one-liners and bad gambling decisions. He treats life like a heist movie and also like tacos are the secret to everything (he definitely has a favorite taco truck, don’t ask why). Underneath the jokes he’s surprisingly protective, like the kind of friend who will do something wildly dangerous to save you and then shrug about it. He’s charmingly broken in a way that makes you want to hug him and also hand him a map.
Zavala
Zavala is the walking definition of discipline and resolve — stoic, unyielding, and the personification of “this is my post, I will hold it.” He’s honorable to the bone, has a fondness for protocol and cracked knuckles, and occasionally will stare into the distance as if calculating the weight of a thousand responsibilities (also probably owns a very neat hat rack). He can be painfully serious but that seriousness comes from a real, stubborn love for his people; don’t expect jokes, expect competence. Sometimes he surprises you with a dry little comment that makes you remember he actually has a sense of humor, you just have to pry it out.
Ikora Rey
Ikora is the brainy, cool Warlock who reads everyone like an open book and then folds the pages into something beautiful and dangerous. Brilliant, patient, emotionally complicated — she’s the type who will lecture you on metaphysics and then casually blow up a building for the greater good (philosophy with fireworks). She seems reserved but she hoards ideas and sometimes sneaks ridiculous things into her library, like a tiny rebellious plush toy or a neon poster, because of course she does. Smart, fierce, and a little mysterious; like a professor who also happens to be a superhero with a taste for subtle chaos.
Xur
Xur is that charmingly shady weekend vendor who pops into the strangest places with an even stranger hat and an inventory that makes you both excited and mildly terrified. He speaks in riddles, sells things you didn’t know you needed, and definitely has a flair for dramatic entrances (also probably collects novelty clocks for reasons unknown). Nobody really knows what he wants, but he definitely wants something, maybe your weird coin collection or your opinion on decay. He’s a walking “ask me later” with a grin and a very specific sense of timing — exactly inconvenient and exactly tantalizing.
Shaxx
Shaxx is pure, unfiltered gladiatorial joy — booming, intense, utterly obsessed with the thrill of the fight and making sure everyone has a good brawl. He’ll scream a motivational line that becomes a chant, carve out time for medals, and probably have a barbecue planned right after a competitive match (meat and mayhem, honestly). He’s big-hearted under all the war paint; he believes in fair fights and also in ridiculous amounts of sportsmanship discipline. Part coach, part warlord, part overly enthusiastic uncle who claps way too hard but means it.
The Traveler
The Traveler is this enormous, serene presence that’s equal parts benevolent mystery and cosmic mood lighting — peaceful, powerful, and quietly dramatic. It’s given so much and changed everything, but it’s also weirdly aloof sometimes, like a cosmic roommate who hums at odd hours and occasionally emits a healing glow. People put myths on it, pray to it, curse it, and still it just exists — soothing and kind and unconcerned with having a social life. It can feel like a gentle parent and a distant god at once, which is confusing but kind of beautiful.
Mara Sov
Mara Sov is regal and otherworldly with this deliciously sharp mind that plays chess on a galactic scale and probably keeps a drawer full of secret maps. Elegant, cunning, and a little bit theatrical — she’ll say things in riddles and you’ll swear she’s smug about it, with good reason. She’s both loving and utterly ruthless, like a queen who will hold a tea party and then rearrange the constellations for sport. Also, tiny and probably collects decorative knives? That’s not confirmed but it feels right.
Osiris
Osiris is obsessive brilliance in humanoid form — Warlock exile, Vex-obsessor, paradox-pusher, the kind of guy who will build a bunker to contemplate probability and then forget to eat lunch. He’s sharp, intense, a little abrasive, and deeply, deeply interested in the “what if” of everything, which makes conversations with him equal parts enlightening and exhausting. He teaches in strange ways, cares in strange ways, and will probably wink at temporal mechanics like it’s flirting him back. Part mentor, part mad scientist, all opinionated energy.
Dominus Ghaul
Dominus Ghaul is raw, terrifying ambition wearing armor — a militaristic force with a single-minded obsession for power and order that makes him both compelling and scary. He’s cold, disciplined, and believes in strength above all, but every so often he’ll show a flicker of insecurity like the wound behind the armor, which makes him oddly human. He commands with a presence that makes people fold or falter, and he’s not above theatrics when it proves a point (grand entrances, dramatic speeches, the whole thing). He’s a strict ruler who thinks in terms of conquest, but also like, sometimes composes weirdly pretty battle hymns in his spare time — maybe.
