Meet the gods from Smite
Set, The Usurper
Set is this gloriously chaotic storm of a god who breaks things on principle and somehow makes it look majestic. He’s all jagged angles and thunderous ego, the kind of ruler who takes the throne with a grin and then immediately redecorates the desert — violently. There’s a ruthless intelligence underneath the bluster, like he’s playing three moves ahead while also being easily distracted by shiny things (seriously, he collects weird small trinkets sometimes). He’s threatening and theatrical, but also oddly loyal to his own twisted sense of order, which makes him both terrifying and fascinatin’ to watch.
Scylla, Horror Of The Sea
Scylla is pure terrifying glamour — think tentacles and teeth and a smile that gives you no options, only implications. She’s the kind of monster that makes sailors write bad poetry and leave out the important details, and yet there’s a tragic, very real loneliness to her hunger (and she occasionally bakes, but maybe that’s rumor). Fierce, territorial, and utterly unapologetic, she embodies the ocean’s cruelty and weird tenderness in equal measure. You can’t ignore her; you don’t want to, even if you should.
Cu Chulainn, Hound Of Ulster
Cu Chulainn is adrenaline personified — the tragic hero who runs at fate with a war cry and probably forgot his lunch. He’s loyal to the bone, stubborn as an ox and noble in that annoying, inspiring way; he’ll defend a friend and then brood about it afterwards for hours. Very physical, very proud, a fighter who loves the glory but also gets quietly poetic when watching dawn (or so I keep hearing, maybe from bards). He’s a whirlwind of honor and impulse, and somehow both reckless and deeply principled, which is sort of his brand.
Bellona, Goddess Of War
Bellona is pure battlefield charisma — loud armor, louder orders, and a grin that makes armies feel better about dying (in a dramatic, somewhat theatrical way). She lives for conflict but isn’t a mindless warmonger; she’s craft, strategy, and the kind of leader who insists on style even in victory. There’s an old-soul ruthlessness mixed with a surprising fondness for tiny domestic comforts (she owns a tea set? maybe), and that contrast makes her feel human and absolutely terrifying. She’s the kind of god you want on your side, but you’d better not cross her.
Tsukuyomi, God Of The Moon
Tsukuyomi is cool, aloof, and quietly intense — like a silver spotlight that judges you politely. He’s reflective (literally), mysterious, and has that whole detached elegance thing going on, but can snap into cold fury if the celestial balance is disturbed. People say he’s distant, which is fair, but it’s more like he’s watching everything carefully and taking notes for a while; also, rumor has it he collects weird lunar rocks and names them. There’s serenity and menace both, a night-sky calm that hides a sleeping storm.
Danzaburou, The Legendary Tanuki
Danzaburou is a mischievous little legend with a grin, a trick up his sleeve, and probably a hat that’s more magical than it looks. He’s a trickster through and through, loves a clever joke, and will con you with a wink and then buy you ramen as an apology (or not — it’s all part of the act). Playful, slippery, and charmingly untrustworthy, he has a soft spot for chaos and the occasional heartfelt lie. He’s more clever than reliable and somehow utterly endearing while simultaneously making you double-check your pockets.
Cthulhu, The Great Dreamer
Cthulhu is the big, cosmic nightmare you can’t quite forget, pulsing with ancient, impossible thoughts and a fashion sense that screams “titanic abyssal chic.” He doesn’t do subtle — his presence is like a slow, irresistible tide that makes sanity wobble (also, he snores, but like, on a planet-scale). Immense, unknowable, with depths of perception that would make your brain leak, he radiates both existential dread and a weird melancholic wonder. He’s terrifying, inscrutable, and sort of poetic in a “you might die thinking” kind of way.
Cupid, The God Of Love
Cupid is adorable and dangerous in the most charming way possible — flirty, chaotic, and always a little too pleased with his arrows. He loves matchmaking and mischievous setups, sometimes with impeccable timing and sometimes with absolutely terrible consequences (mostly adorable accidents, but still!). There’s a sincere, tender core underneath the pranks; he genuinely believes in romance, even when he’s egging people on for sport. Sweet, impulsive, and a tiny bit theatrical, he will absolutely ruin your life with feelings and then apologize with chocolate.
Apollo, God Of Music
Apollo is sunshine in human form, like a lute-playing golden meme who writes the soundtrack to heroic montages. He’s brilliant, confident, a bit show-offy (okay, a lot), and obsessed with art and excellence — whether it’s music, prophecy, or just looking amazing on a hillside. Despite the vanity there’s genuine warmth and a protective streak; he’s the sort who will compose you a symphony and then lecture you about technique for an hour. Charming, cultured, and sometimes frustratingly perfect, he’s the kind of god dinner parties whisper about later.
Nemesis, Goddess Of Vengeance
Nemesis is cold, precise, and terrifyingly fair — like karma incarnate wearing businesslike armor and a no-nonsense expression. She balances scales with a ruthlessness that isn’t cruelty so much as mathematics; she’s patient, methodical, and somehow beautiful in her implacability. There’s zero melodrama, just a cool, inevitable correction, and also a tiny secret hobby (rumor: she gardens very strictly, with labels and everything). Vengeance as principle makes her awe-inspiring and quietly devastating.
Erlang Shen, The Illustrious Sage
Erlang Shen is the kind of wise, capable hero who can both fight demons and make a mean cup of tea, and he does it without fuss. He’s noble and disciplined, with a very calming, reliable energy — like a steadfast friend who will train you and then scold you for slacking. There’s depth to his compassion and a stubborn streak in his sense of justice; also apparently he has a dog (or a mythical beast) and is ridiculously soft with it when no one’s looking. Calm, competent, and quietly legendary, he’s the dependable center in chaotic myths.
