Harry Bosch

Harry Bosch is the kind of detective who seems carved out of Los Angeles asphalt—weathered, stubborn, and impossible to placate. Relentless about finding the truth, he treats cases like personal debts and somehow remembers tiny details nobody else even noticed. He’s a lone wolf who loves the city but also has these weird soft spots (Maddie, the occasional vinyl record, and an inexplicable fondness for bad coffee). Sometimes he plays by the rules, sometimes he rips them up, and yes, the moral contradictions are huge but also why you can’t stop watching.

Honey Chandler

Honey Chandler is magnetic and razor-sharp — court-shark energy with a smile that can either comfort or cut you, often both in the same breath. She navigates legal gray areas like a chess player, which makes her brilliant and occasionally dangerously persuasive. There’s a softer, almost anxious side when it comes to family stuff, and she owns at least three jackets she swears are “lucky” (I think one is neon). Maddie Bosch is electricity — young, fierce, and messily brilliant; you can feel that stubborn Bosch DNA in every decision she makes. She has this mixture of teenage impatience and old-soul intuition, which leads to both brilliant moves and spectacular screw-ups. Obsessed with justice but also secretly into cheesy thrillers, and I could swear she doodles tiny suns in her notebooks when she’s thinking. She wants respect but sometimes acts like she doesn’t care — except she totally does, and it’s adorable and kind of terrifying all at once.

Carl Rogers

Carl Rogers is the calm, steady cop who might be the emotional anchor of the squad—practical, dry-humored, and quietly terrifying when he gets serious. He likes order (desk is immaculate?), yet he’ll surprise you by breaking protocol for the right reason — classic “by-the-book but not a robot” vibe. Rumor has it he collects fountain pens and can recite obscure crime statistics for fun, which is either charming or absurd, depending on your tolerance for nerdiness. He looks like he’d drink black tea and read novels on a porch, but then he’ll sprint after suspects like a man half his age.

Maurice “Mo” Bassi

Maurice “Mo” Bassi is the smooth, fast-talking lawyer who always seems two moves ahead and has an answer ready even when you didn’t ask the question. Kind of velvet-gloved — persuasive, charming, and annoyingly principled in small, surprising ways. He eats salads for lunch and then inhales a slab of barbecue at dinner; moral contradictions are his aesthetic, apparently. He’s the person you’d want representing you in a sticky legal mess, and also the one who might have a secret soft playlist with sad 80s ballads, which is an image I can’t shake.

Reina Vasquez

Reina Vasquez is the ferocious, detail-obsessed investigator who will read your face like a book and then twist the ending to prove you wrong. She balances empathy with a steel spine — she’ll comfort families and then go toe-to-toe with bureaucracy without blinking. Sometimes she seems almost clinical, sometimes wildly emotional (yes, both), and she probably keeps a jar of emergency chocolate in her desk drawer. Also bilingual, sharp as a tack, and suspiciously fond of sticky notes, which I love because relatable.

John Creighton

John Creighton is the slick, wealthy type who models the “respectable public figure with secret opinions” energy — charming in press photos, complicated in person. Mysterious, strategic, and maybe ethically flexible when it suits his projects (also possibly collects obscure maritime charts? don’t ask how I know this). He can be oddly paternal one moment and icy the next; he’s the kind of antagonist who isn’t all black-and-white, which makes him deliciously frustrating. If he had a signature scent it would be expensive cologne and old paper, and I’m half convinced he always drinks bourbon with a splash of regret.
