Meet the characters from Tribes of Europa

Liv

Okay, Liv is chaos wrapped in empathy — stubborn, fierce, and the kind of person who will sprint headfirst into danger because “someone has to.” She’s the practical heart of the sibling trio, constantly thinking three steps ahead while also forgetting where she left her keys (seriously, it’s a thing). Loves making plans and breaking rules, hates unnecessary cruelty but will absolutely throw a punch if it helps. Also, tiny detail: she hums old pop songs when she’s concentrating, which is adorable and also terrifying in a fight.

Kiano

Kiano is the hot-blooded, scarred-hero type — protective to the point of obsession and secretly more sentimental than he’d ever admit. He’s impulsive, loud, and somehow manages a goofy grin right before doing something reckless, which is both infuriating and endearing. Skilled with tech and makeshift weapons, but also the kind of guy who keeps a ridiculous lucky coin in his pocket (it does nothing, he knows, but he pets it anyway). He can be short-tempered one moment and unexpectedly tender the next, which makes him very popular and also very dramatic.

Elja

Elja is the quiet heart, the kid with the weirdly ancient knowledge tucked behind shy eyes — curious, brave in a small, stubborn way, and somehow both naive and terrifyingly persistent. He carries the weird glowing thing (you know the one) and you can see destiny written on his forehead, but he also collects bottle caps like it’s a hobby, which is delightfully mundane. Gentle and emotionally honest, he makes choices from the gut and often surprises everyone by being the calmest person in a crisis. He’s like a little calm storm; also, I’m pretty sure he sleeps with a stuffed animal sometimes, don’t tell anyone.

Moses

Moses is the gravel-voiced, rough-around-the-edges leader who was forged in fires and keeps a soft spot he hides behind a scowl. He commands respect without always wanting it — pragmatic, brutal when necessary, but not evil for the fun of it; there’s a code, even if it’s grim. He can be a bit theatrical (dramatic pauses, long looks), and yet he’s the kind of leader who fixes a broken boot before breakfast and can name all the constellations, allegedly. Odd little quirk: he calls stray dogs “officers” and feeds them first, which I love.

Varvara

Varvara is velvet and venom — cool, inscrutable, always three moves ahead and somehow wearing lipstick that never smudges no matter what apocalypse is happening. She manipulates like it’s a hobby and loves watching people puzzle things out, which makes conversations with her feel like chess where you’re not allowed to touch the pieces. Elegant but ruthless, with a weird hobby of collecting porcelain birds (aesthetic, right?) and a laugh that can freeze a room. Also, there’s this tiny contradictory thing where she hums lullabies when she’s alone, and it makes you suspicious and kind of oddly sad.

Grieta

Grieta is pure blades-and-grit energy — fierce, unflinching, the classic warrior with a surprisingly soft playlist (yes, she listens to slow songs on the road, don’t ask how). She’s intensely loyal, has zero patience for nonsense, and will absolutely save your life while scolding you for being dumb about it. Has this habit of sharpening knives in quiet moments, which is both soothing for her and terrifying for everyone else. Oh and she smiles like a miner finds gold — rare but blinding.

David Voss

David Voss is slick, polished, and disturbingly calm — the kind of villain who uses charm like a scalpel and planning like a religion. He believes in order and has this unsettling conviction that his version of the future is the only sane one, which makes him brilliant and dangerously persuasive. He drinks tea with perfect manners and also dismantles people’s lives with spreadsheets, probably keeps bonsai trees to stay serene (or so I’ve decided). There’s a cold tenderness to him sometimes, like he’s capable of almost sweetness, and that’s what makes him the worst kind of calculated.
