Marvel has substantially revised its casting criteria for
The Avengers. The fact is that back in the eighties, an unspoken set of requirements was created for people preparing to play superheroes. Such actors should not have previously been prosecuted, played incriminating roles in theater or cinema (murderers, drug addicts, homosexuals), be known for scandals, or appeared in front of the audience earlier in the form of a clearly negative character. Eighties Marvel made sure that kids didn't make a hero out of an "unclean" person.
The Avengers in this regard did not fulfill any of the requirements. Some of the actors were previously prosecuted and even ended up behind bars, playing the roles of maniacs, prostitutes and drug addicts. In addition, each of the main characters played the role of a homosexual at least once.
