Meet the characters from Shooter

Bob Lee Swagger

Bob Lee is the grizzled sniper who looks like he could disappear into a mountainside and still come out with perfect aim. He’s stoic, fiercely principled, and quietly furious about the way the world breaks its own rules — but he also has this weird, soft spot for dogs (and old country songs) that makes him less of a stone statue than he seems. He’s paranoid in the best way: trusts his rifle, his instincts, and maybe one or two people, but not paperwork or suits. He’s a loner who remembers every detail of a shooting range and also the name of the bartender who served him once. Also yes he’s dangerous and surprisingly sentimental, which feels like a contradiction but somehow is exactly him.

Julie Swagger

Julie is the backbone who will pack a bag, load a gun, and sign the divorce papers if you mess with her family — and then make you tea. She’s practical, fierce, and endlessly resourceful, with this calm-cool demeanor that hides a volcano of protectiveness; also insists on organizing things alphabetically, which is oddly comforting. Sometimes she’s the emotional center, sometimes she’s the scariest person in the room — flip a coin, both are true. She laughs in a tired way and keeps old photographs in a shoebox, which she swears she’ll never throw out even though she says she hates clutter. (Also, maybe she makes a mean pie? Maybe!)

Nadine Memphis

Nadine is the sharp, by-the-book agent who will read your file like a novel and then call you out on the ending. She’s smart, relentless, and a little addicted to coffee and casework, and yes she will stay up until 3am poking at a theory you swore was impossible. She cares about justice in a messy, stubborn way — loves procedure but will happily force a rule into a shape that works if someone needs it. She quotes statutes and playlists with equal passion, which is kind of adorable and also intimidating. Sometimes she’s warm and social, sometimes she’s a walking interrogation, and both versions are equally intense.

Isaac Johnson

Isaac is the glossy, dangerous planner you love to hate — smooth suit, colder brain, and a talent for convincing people things were their idea. He’s ruthless and pragmatic, obsessed with control, and treats crisis like a chess problem; also, weirdly, collects tiny toy soldiers on his office shelf which no one understands except maybe him. He’s charming when he needs to be, utterly moral in his own shadowy way, and will make choices that give you chills even as they make sense. There’s a softness in private (gardening? old letters?) that he denies in public, which might be real or might be a rumor started to distract you. He’s the type who smiles and breaks the world gently; it’s terrifying.
