With stunning animation and epic battles, this show hooks viewers. Complex characters keep fans coming back for more since its 2017 launch.

Meet the characters from Castlevania

Trevor Belmont

Trevor is the gruff, exasperated hero you want on your worst day — world-weary, sarcastic, and somehow still carrying the weight of an entire rogue family on his shoulders. He’s the reluctant protector who swears he’s retired but will drag himself out of bed to punch a monster (and then complain about the upholstery). Loves whisky and stale bread, claims not to care for etiquette but always sits like a proper gentleman at funerals — weird combo, I know. He’s rough around the edges, fiercely loyal, and probably has a secret stash of sweet bread he denies to everyone, including himself.

Alucard

Alucard is that impossibly calm, melancholy noble who reads poetry in candlelight and could snap your neck with two fingers if he wanted, but won’t because principles! He’s elegant, conflicted, and deeply tired of family drama (same, buddy), drenched in tragedy yet oddly fond of little domestic rituals like feeding the cat and ironing his cloak. He seems distant but is the type to remember the exact way you like your tea — then immediately claim he never takes sugar, which is a lie. A vampire with a bookish heart and the kind of loneliness that makes him both terrifying and heartbreakingly relatable.

Hector

Hector is the big-hearted yet hot-headed craftsman of the group — hammer-first, think-later but in the best possible way. He literally shapes the world with fire and talent, proud of his scars and his workbench, humming while he works (horribly off-key sometimes, but endearing). Loyal to a fault, stubborn as an anvil, and somehow loves poetry even though he pretends he doesn’t understand metaphors (he does). He wants peace but really, really loves making cool weapons — catastrophic tension, yes, and also he collects stray buttons for no good reason.

Isaac

Isaac is a quietly terrifying force of devotion — methodical, obsessed, and terrifyingly creative with exactly the kind of morbid artistry that gives you chills. He’s gentle with tools and grotesque in execution, sings lullabies while he works (cute and creepy at once), and has this odd, tender side that likes to collect little paper cranes, which makes no sense. He believes in the beauty of change, even if his change looks like chaos; principled but ruthless, and probably wears a ribbon that clashes with the rest of his maniacal aesthetic.

Carmilla

Carmilla is silk and poison; regal, hilarious in a wicked way, and always three steps ahead in any political ballroom. She throws shade like it’s an art form, adores elaborate parties, and hoards maps and gossip the way other people hoard memories — which she does, in-flights, with horrifying efficiency. She will kiss you one minute and betray you the next, then send a polite apology note with a dagger hidden inside (so classy). A longtime schemer with a soft spot she’d never admit to (probably children? or roses? nobody knows, she changes her mind).

Saint Germain

Saint Germain is the flamboyant, mysterious gentleman-adventurer who shows up with a pocket watch, a philosophical quote, and an impossible accent. Charming, clever, and annoyingly well-read, he flirts with destiny and collects curiosities like enchanted teacups — yes, that’s a thing — and possibly anachronistic recipes. He’s calm in a crisis, loves a good debate, and might be older than anyone you know but naps like a college student (incongruous, right?). Equal parts mystic and raconteur, he’s the kind of enigmatic friend who saves the day and then asks you the existential question over dessert.

Dracula

Dracula is tragic, colossal, and somehow still achingly romantic — the classic brooding villain with plenty of poetic lines and a bedtime story worth of sorrow. He’s a father in his own warped way, devoted and destructive, mourning something huge and making absolutely terrible life choices out of grief (relatable but monstrous). Elegant in a terrifying, antique suit, he collects memories and regrets, waters his roses at midnight, then sighs about the moon like it’s the last honest thing left. Powerful, heartbreaking, and dramatic — he will declaim the wrongness of humanity and then apologize with a thunderstorm.

Sypha Belnades

Sypha is spark, smarts, and fury all rolled into one — a fire-wielding scholar who reads grimoires like comics and jokes while blasting demons into next week. She’s brilliant, empathetic, and stubbornly idealistic, the kind of person who brings snacks to strategy meetings and also sets the snacks on fire by accident sometimes. Loves words and puns, hates being called fragile (will crush you with a tome if you do), and has a habit of knitting tiny charms into her cloak because why not. Heroic, warm, a little chaotic, and ridiculously inspirational — also cries at sunsets and action scenes, frequently.
