Meet the characters from Fate/Grand Order
Artoria Pendragon
Artoria is the classic stoic king type — knightly, dutiful, and painfully committed to doing what’s right even when it hurts. She carries that heavy sense of responsibility like a literal armor, and honestly sometimes you can almost hear the clink every time she makes a choice. She’s regal and quiet but also has these tiny stubborn, almost teenage flashes where she refuses to admit she needs help (and will probably borrow your umbrella without asking). Also, she definitely has a weird soft spot for tea and will glare at you if you call her by any nickname other than “Saber,” even though she secretly likes nicknames sometimes.
Ishtar
Ishtar is loud, flashy, and full of divine tantrums — basically cosmic energy in high heels and gold accessories. She’s proud and flirtatious and will probably roast you one moment and then give you an over-the-top compliment the next, because consistency is boring. Despite the ego and the dramatic entrances she’s surprisingly competent and smart, like a goddess who plays by her own rules and still wins; also rumor has it she hoards starry snacks, but that might be fanon. She’s the kind of chaotic diva who can casually destroy an army and then take a selfie with the ruins, and honestly that’s the vibe.
Miyamoto Musashi
Musashi is this wild blend of zen calm and hyperactive sword obsession — she’ll sit cross-legged and meditate, then suddenly sprint off to duel a mountain or practice with ten swords at once. She’s fiercely independent, a little eccentric, and has this adorable tendency to call everything a “test” like life is her personal dojo. She’s both a poetic thinker and a relentless pragmatist, inexplicably fond of snacks in her pockets and also of quoting philosophy at 3 a.m. She feels like a wandering ronin who collects weird trinkets and life lessons and occasionally forgets which town she’s in — in the best way.
Okita Souji
Okita is deceptively sweet and extremely deadly — like a tiny, polite storm that will annihilate you with a smile. She’s cheerful, disciplined, and kind of a perfectionist about everything, especially her swordplay, but she also has this shy, almost embarrassed side where she gets flustered by compliments (and probably blushes in a historically inaccurate shade). She’s loyal to a fault and surprisingly self-aware, with a dry sense of humor that catches people off guard; also rumor has it she’s into cute stationery, which somehow makes her more terrifying. Underneath the polite eyes is a warrior who thinks taking the job seriously means doing it beautifully and efficiently.
Scathach
Scathach is the mysterious warrior queen who trains heroes like it’s a small hobby and she’s simultaneously bored and amused by mortals. She’s stoic, commanding, and scary competent — think ancient martial arts master who also reads your future and judges your life choices with a spear. She’s both a teacher and a loner, with a soft, almost secretive fondness for rare teas (or was that poetry? I can’t remember) and she’ll absolutely make you endure painful but enlightening training. There’s a chill of the supernatural about her, like she’s existed in the fog forever and has slightly questionable standards for what counts as a warm greeting.
Jeanne Alter
Jeanne Alter is basically the dark, dramatic tsundere version of saintly Jeanne — broody, passionate, and spectacularly melodramatic in all the best ways. She’s vengeful and charismatic, with a flair for theatrics that makes you both nervous and kind of thrilled to be near her; honestly she could give a villainous soliloquy at breakfast. Underneath the rage there’s this weirdly clingy, insecure core — like she wants approval but will punch you if you try to give it — and she absolutely adores ruins and broken things (also maybe chocolate, don’t tell). She’s wild, dangerous, and oddly relatable if you’ve ever deleted your own text messages out of spite.
Ushiwakamaru
Ushiwakamaru is pure speed and sunshine wrapped in heroic legend — quick, brave, and impossibly optimistic even when things are bleak. She feels young and free, a cavalry kid with a grin that says “let’s go ride into trouble” and a tactical mind that quietly surprises you with how sharp it is. She’s loyal to her people and weirdly sentimental, like she keeps ridiculous souvenirs from every campaign (feathers, ribbons, that sort of thing). Also, she talks about horses a lot and might name every mount she’s ever seen, which is adorable and slightly over-enthusiastic.
Tamamo-no-Mae
Tamamo is sly, charming, and endlessly theatrical — a cunning kitsune who will smile at you while rewriting reality and offering you tea. She’s affectionate and doting in a way that makes you want to both hug her and check your wallet, because her help comes with a dramatic little bow and maybe a tiny contract. She loves games, gossip, and snacks, and has this unsettlingly efficient way of getting exactly what she wants while calling it “love.” Also, she’s really into makeup and ancient court gossip, which seems random until you remember she’s literally a nine-tailed fox who enjoys a good outfit change.
Nero Claudius
Nero is flamboyant, theatrical, and absolutely insists on making life a glorious performance — she’s the kind of emperor who turns everything into a stage. She’s bright, confident, and somehow endearingly petty, with a passion for art, red dresses, and declaring things noble even if they aren’t. She’s surprisingly warm and genuine under all the sparkle, like she truly believes in loving extravagantly and being dramatic for the sake of beauty. Also she paints like a mad genius when she’s procrastinating and might appoint you as a noble for no reason other than she likes your shoes.
Nightingale
Nightingale is this terrifyingly devoted healer who blends saintly care with a borderline obsessive, chaotic streak — reading your medical history while humming lullabies and plotting revenge on bureaucracy. She’s compassionate to the point of fury, loves tending to wounds but will also give an unhinged speech about hygiene and fairness at three in the morning. There’s a lot of gloom and a dash of dark humor around her — she’ll save you and then compile a list of ways the world failed you, which is oddly validating. She’s maternal, fierce, and a bit dramatic; she probably keeps a ledger of sins and bandages in the same drawer.
Minamoto-no-Raikou
Minamoto-no-Raikou is thunderous energy incarnate — a boisterous, larger-than-life warrior who loves chaos, strong drink, and protecting her people with a grin. She’s feral and fun, a bit of a delinquent samurai-mother type who will scoop up children, smash a door, and then knit you a scarf, possibly in that order. She’s fiercely proud but has this surprisingly tender spot for companions and tiny animals (yes, really), and she’ll fight a dozen yokai before breakfast while humming an old song. Also she’s probably been told to tone it down and didn’t, and frankly that’s why everyone loves her.
