Meet the characters from Paladins
Atlas
Atlas is like that hulking friend who shows up to a party in full armor and insists on helping everyone carry their groceries — massive, solid, and oddly earnest. He moves like a walking fortress and somehow makes being immovable feel inspirational, which is ridiculous and kind of adorable. He’s all about doing the job right, probably has blueprints taped to his storage locker, and yes he might hum weird mechanical lullabies when nobody’s looking. Also, I’m pretty sure he collects tiny model ships for reasons that make sense in his head but not to the rest of us.
Barik
Barik is the grumpy adorable tinkerer who will build you a turret and scold you for using it wrong five minutes later. He’s a scrappy engineer with a beard that hints at wisdom and a constant tendency to mutter to himself — also snacks, lots of snacks tucked in tool pockets, because obviously. He brags about “proper craftsmanship” while secretly fixing things with duct tape and charm, and he’s inexplicably soft with kids and animals. Don’t trust him to keep a straight face when something blows up in a very safe, non-lethal way.
Cassie
Cassie is the breezy, wind-in-your-hair archer type who looks like she’s late for something exciting and probably is. Quick, cocky, and a little mischievous, she’s the friend who steals your fries and then gives you the best apology ever — usually an arrow-shaped trinket. She’s eternally optimistic in that “nothing can stop me” way but will actually panic about tiny domestic things like mismatched socks. Also, random fact: she collects discarded ribbons and swears they “tell stories,” which may or may not be true.
Khan
Khan is the steadfast commander with a voice like a rallying cry and a soft spot he pretends not to have, classic leader energy with scuffed armor. He’s who people follow because he’s competent and stubborn and will literally stand in front of trouble and glare until it goes away. There’s this weirdly poetic side to him — like sometimes he quotes old battle maxims and then pulls out tea and a biscuit five minutes later. He’s protective to a fault, sometimes annoyingly so, but deep down he’s just trying to keep everyone from falling apart.
Tiberius
Tiberius is peak flamboyant showman meets arcane tinkerer, all charm and smoke and that suspiciously perfect hat. He’s clever, theatrical, and definitely the sort who makes a grand entrance and then tells you three stories at once; also, he collects alarm clocks for reasons that make zero sense. He can be a bit theatrical to hide the fact that he’s actually calculating everything — except when he forgets where he put his gloves, which happens more than he admits. He’s equal parts theatrical flare and low-key genius, with the occasional melodramatic sigh.
Androxus
Androxus is the brooding antihero who looks like he stepped out of a gothic novel and into a duel club, all swagger and scowls. He’s lethal and dramatic but also weirdly refined — like he’ll threaten your life and then offer you a cup of very hot, probably bitter tea. There’s this tragic backstory vibe that he leans into, but sometimes he’s just petty in ways that break the mood, which is oddly charming. Also, watch the way he cleans his weapons; it’s suspiciously meticulous for someone who claims to be above chores.
Sha Lin
Sha Lin is the desert ghost archer who seems calm until he’s not, silent as a sand dune and then suddenly poetic and weirdly theatrical. He’s stealthy, mysterious, and has this whole “I will whisper to the wind” energy — but also, and I swear this is true in my headcanon, he hoards tiny teacups with hand-painted camels. He can be stoic and then burst into a sarcastic comment that ruins his own mystique, which you secretly love. He’s a complicated mix of old-world honor and surprising modern sarcasm.
Raum
Raum gives off this wild, chaotic-vibe mercenary energy — like he’s equal parts grumpy guttercat and unpredictable thunderstorm. He’s dangerous, a little unhinged in the best way, and probably keeps a notebook of grudges and snack reviews in the same place. He can be blunt to the point of cruelty but has weird, sporadic acts of kindness (once bought a pigeon a tiny little hat? maybe). Also, half the time he contradicts himself on purpose just to see if you’re paying attention.
Makoa
Makoa is the old sea-faring tank with a shell full of stories and a laugh that sounds like waves hitting rocks. Solid, reliable, and paternal, he’ll tow you out of trouble and then tell you a long, rambling sea shanty you didn’t ask for but secretly needed. He’s stubbornly sentimental about the ocean and probably keeps a jar of seawater on his mantle for “inspirational reasons.” He’s scary in a protective way, like a dad who once fought a kraken and then forgot where he put his keys.
Zhin
Zhin is the smooth talking swordsman who makes villainy look like a lifestyle choice and somehow still gets invited to parties. He’s theatrical, enjoys a good flourish, and has philosophical monologues mid-duel because of course he does. He’s both terrifying and oddly cultured — like a man who can chop you down and then critique your posture. Also, he may own more capes than is strictly necessary, and that’s not a bad thing.
Terminus
Terminus is the hulking reaper-of-sorts, all doom-and-gloom armor with a surprisingly tender spot for tiny potted plants (don’t ask). He’s heavy, relentless, and has this grim inevitability vibe, but then he’ll accidentally nurture a succulent back to life and you’ll question everything you thought you knew. He moves slow but each step feels like a promise, and he’s the kind of ominous presence that somehow makes people feel safe in a weird way. Also, rumor has it he hums lullabies when nobody is watching — creepy but oddly wholesome.
