Meet the characters from The A-Team
Hannibal Smith
Hannibal Smith is the team’s cigar-smoking, master-of-disguise brain — always three steps ahead and probably already has a plan labeled ‘B’ through ‘Z’. He treats missions like theater, loves a dramatic reveal (seriously, the man will burst out of a cake if that’s what it takes), but he’s also ridiculously calm when things explode, which is somehow comforting? Part father-figure, part prankster, he can be sweet about the troops one minute and gleefully setting up an impossible trap the next — total chaos-architect energy. And yes, that catchphrase — “I love it when a plan comes together” — is basically his personality condensed, though sometimes he claims to hate cigars and then lights one five minutes later.
B.A. Baracus
B.A. Baracus is the muscle with a gold chain and a heart of—well, surprisingly squishy stuff under all that gruff. He hates flying with a passion (and will batter anyone who says otherwise), yet he’ll jury-rig an airplane out of a junkyard faster than you can blink, which is kind of hilarious and confusing. Grumpy, fiercely loyal, and low-key obsessed with order and discipline, he also has these tiny soft hobbies — like, rumored knitwear and an inexplicable fondness for cartoons — that make him oddly endearing. He scares enemies with his stare, scares his teammates with his temper, and then goes home and probably makes a sandwich with military precision.
Templeton “Faceman” Peck
Face is the smooth-talking, impeccably dressed con artist who can get you a plane, a gun, or a fake ID with a smile and a wink. He seems shallow at first — flirting, buying suits, always a little too polished — but there’s a soft, almost embarrassed generosity under that surface; he’ll gamble away his shirt to help a friend, then sulk about it. Oh, and he collects ridiculous ties (or did I hallucinate that from a montage?), and he cries at old movies when no one’s looking. Basically, charming, a little shady, and secretly sentimental — his tricks are outrageous but usually for a good cause, even if he won’t say so.
H.M. “Howling Mad” Murdock
Murdock is the gloriously unhinged pilot who’s obviously crazy but absolutely indispensable — like, he’s the kind of person who will fly a bathtub if the mission calls for it. He talks to imaginary characters, bursts into show tunes mid-battle, and wears hats that defy fashion logic, and yet somehow his piloting is flawless, which is almost unfair. Part of the team pretends he’s a liability but secretly depends on his unpredictable genius, and he loves that attention (or maybe he hates it? he changes his mind a lot). Also, rumor has it he might actually be an honorably-discharged ace, or just a very convincing lunatic — both seem true depending on the day.
